How Does Vertical Form Fill Seal Machine Work?

1. Film transport & unwind
When the VFFS packaging machine is running, the film is usually pulled off the roll, which are positioned to the side of the forming tube which is located at the front of the machine.
2.Film tracking and positioning
The registration photo eye detects the registration mark on printed film and in turn, controls the pull-down belts in contact with the film at the forming tube. The registration photo-eye keeps the film positioned correctly so the film will be cut in the appropriate spot. Then, the film travels past film tracking sensors that detect the position of the film as it's traveling through the packaging machine.
3. Bag Forming
The film enters a forming tube assembly. As it crests the shoulder on the forming tube, it is folded around the tube so that the end result is a length of film with the two outer edges of the film overlapping each other.
4. Filling and Sealing
A set of heated horizontal sealing jaws come together to make the top seal of one bag and the bottom seal of the next bag, then filling material.

VFFS Packaging Machine Troubleshooting:

1. The sealing roller is not hot
Reason:
*Power failure protector trips
*The heating tube burns out
*Temperature control table is damaged
Solution:
* Check and eliminate short circuit, reclose
* Replace the heating tube
* Replace the temperature control table
2. The temperature is normal when the machine is stopped, and the temperature keeps dropping after the machine is turned on
* The ambient voltage is low, causing the power of the heating tube to decrease
* Heating tube power is too small
Solution:
* Reduce the packaging speed or add a voltage stabilizing device
* Replace the high-power heating tube
3. Packing bag seal leaks
Reason:
* The temperature is not enough
* Not enough pressure
* The sealing time is too short
* The front and rear horizontal sealing rollers are not sealed evenly
* Clipping
Solution:
* Increase the temperature appropriately
* Check the total pressure
* Increase the sealing time parameter appropriately
* Carefully adjust the sealing parallelism of the horizontal sealing roller
* Adjust the feeding time or inflation delay
